Sacred Paths Center traces its existence back to October 1979 on the West Bank of the University of Minnesota. A bookstore called Evenstar was begun there by Loui Pieper. Loui’s dream of owning a metaphysical bookstore came to fruition and saw many moves, changes and trends. But the goal always was to provide quality metaphysical merchandise and advice for who those who sought the information. Through Evenstar and the affliated School of Sacred Paths, she was able to make these dreams a reality.
In 2004, Loui began looking at retiring from the bookselling business and sold Evenstar to Gillian Osborn and Teisha Magee, who had both been friends and employees of Loui’s for over a decade each. Then, in February 2009, when new space opened around the corner from Evenstar’s University avenue location, it was decided that it was time for a major change. Gillian left the bookstore to travel the world and Teisha opened Sacred Paths Center (naming it in homage to the original School of Sacred Paths.) Sacred Paths Center is now a non-profit community center with a retail gift shop, healing center, classrooms, community events and more!
